Get to know me
Hi, I‘m Kris (aka Crafter Kris), a name coined by my daughter and her friends when I was always either making things or encouraging them to when they were at our house. I have always loved arts, crafts, technical theatre and basically anything that lets me be a maker. By no means do I consider myself a great artist, but I love exploring the arts and ways of making and building. It allows me to continue to learn and grow as an artist/crafter. Taking something from an idea to a physical object is the best!
After retiring from 25+ years in the sign industry (design, production and installation), I decided start this business. There are many things I learned from my experience as a sign maker that I use in my other creative pursuits. I have been passionate about making things my entire life and hope to use that and the skills I have learned over the years to bring unique and exciting art/craft kits to life.
This whole endeavor started with my passion for crafting in all it's various forms (from wood and glass to cardboard, paper and everything in between) and sharing that passion with others. With that in mind, I want my products to inspire people of all ages find joy in creating something with their own two hands. I firmly believe that creativity is important for everyone, to say you’re not creative means you just haven’t found your creative outlet yet.
As this page evolves, I plan to offer a wide variety of kits for for everyone from beginners to more experienced crafters. as well as some art of my own for sale. All of my craft kits are sourced with an eye toward being eco-friendly, using reusable, recycled or recyclable materials and packaging where I can. Every craft kit is handmade and hand-packaged with care.
